As a photojournalist, I have hundreds, even thousands, of
photos, both actual photos and digital ones.
I’ve been working on my photos and as I go through them,
I’ve been throwing away duplicate photos. They’re from the years when I had
prints made and got two copies.
A friend of mine is getting ready to move to Georgia.
Another friend and I prepared a photo album for her.
When I went through my 50 albums that I’ve put together so
far, it was great when I found duplicates that I could give to her. I didn’t
have to scan the photos or take the negatives in to have a copy made.
Hence, the dilemma. Should I continue to throw away
duplicates?
I found a huge stack of duplicates of my grandchildren when
they were about three months old. They were such adorable babies, twins, a boy
and a girl. I didn’t throw them away. I need to check with my daughter to see
if she ever received a copy of the photos, now famous in the family.
I do throw away bad photos. Years ago, when I went to the
Nikon School, the instructor said to get rid of photos that weren’t good.
Good advice. No need to go to the trouble to store those.
Let me know what you’re doing with your duplicate photos in
