
On Facebook, I clicked one of those articles about things you should never do again in the kitchen. One was fry bacon. The reasoning? Grease splatters all over. The suggestion was to bake bacon. So, I thought I’d try it.
It worked really well. The best part was you can bake a whole pound of bacon at once. You don’t have to fry two pans full. And, the pan was easy to clean. This is important since I don’t use nonstick cookware.
I’m eating a lot of bacon these days because I have a big crop of tomatoes from my garden. I’m enjoying bacon and tomato sandwiches.
And, if you’re eating bacon, be sure to get bacon that isn’t cured with sodium nitrate.
Two years ago, a research committee of the World Health Organization said ham, hot dogs, bacon, and other processed meats cause cancer. And, it also said that red meat probably causes cancer, too.
