Baby boomer bloggers write about retirement, its pleasures and challenges

Broadway Play 11403162_10207471085001217_3643890354727761604_nTom Sightings of Sightings From Sixty is the host for this week’s Best of Boomer Blogs #413.

Sightings tells us about his Aunt Hannah, a woman who had been widowed a long time, who came to visit for a month during the summer from her home in Florida, and who was dour and never smiled.

He reports retirement today is much different from Hannah’s, who’s claim to fame was watching Charles Lindberg land at Le Bourget Airport in Paris and who sat at the table slowly drinking tea and eating toast.

Sightings says most of the retired people he knows are doing a lot more than sitting around the kitchen nibbling on toast.

Bloggers in our blogging group are attending a Broadway play in New York City, moving into a new solar home in the Colorado foothills, looking at their prescription drug costs, and figuring out how to cope with challenges at midlife.
