Which consumer happenings cheered you this week and which ones made you want to scream or weep?
Here are my best and worst consumer experiences this week:
My best: Greeting card stock on sale
When I went to Jo-Ann Fabrics and Crafts to buy some greeting card stock to use for selling my photo-greeting cards, I was pleased to find a 30 percent off sale.
On my purchase of four packages of cards, I saved $8.40 on my order.
However, they didn’t have the white color I like to use best. So I was told to come back Friday or Saturday to see if the new shipment had come in. If not, I could order three more packages before the price went up.
Unfortunately, when I went back today, Jo-Ann’s computer crashed and the operations manager had difficulty getting it started again. After 15 minutes, she finally took my name and address and told me to call back and charge the special order when the computer was working again.
My worst: An entrée from Trader Joe’s that wasn’t fresh
When I went to Trader Joe’s a few days ago, I bought an Arabian Joe’s Middle East Feast entrée.
Hungry, I opened it in the car and took a few bites. The lamb meatballs were old, but the hummus tasted good, so I took it home. When I tried to finish it, I found the pita bread also tasted old.
A couple of days later, I went back to Trader Joe’s and asked for a refund.
