History repeats itself as a new product causes a child’s death.
It’s liquid candy sold in a container like roll-on deodorant, which children lick off the rolling ball.
Cocco Candy
Cocco Candy and KGR Distribution are recalling about 145,800 Cocco Candy Rolling Candy containers.
The candy’s rolling ball can detach from the container into a child’s mouth, posing a choking hazard or death.
The CPSC has received one report of a 7-year-old girl who choked and died after the candy’s rolling ball became trapped in her throat in New York in April 2023.
The recall involves two-ounces containers in various flavors including sour strawberry, sour tutti frutti, and sour cola.

Consumers should stop using the recalled rolling candy immediately, take it away from children, and contact KGR Distribution Corp. for a refund, the Consumer Produce Safety Commission and company advise.

Candy Dynamics
Candy Dynamics is recalling about 70 million Slime Licker Sour Rolling Liquid Candy containers.
The candy’s rolling ball poses the same choking hazard to children as the Cocco Candy liquid candy.
Candy Dynamics has received two reports of the rolling ball detaching from the container. No injuries have been reported to the company.
The candy was sold in blue razz, strawberry, sour apple, and black cherry flavors. Click here to see the product UPC codes included in the recall.
As with the Cocco Candy liquid candy, consumers should immediately stop using the candy and take it away from children. Candy Dynamics is offering a refund for non-empty containers.
