Recall of the Week: Garden Fresh Foods ready-to-eat chicken and ham products due to Listeria contamination

Milwaukee-based
Garden Fresh Foods is recalling about 19,000 pounds of ready-to-eat chicken and
ham products due to possible contamination with Listeria
monocytogenes
, the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food
Safety and Inspection Service said.

products are being recalled along with a recall by the same company of products
regulated by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration. See this list of recalled

Products
regulated by FSIS have the establishment number “EST. 17256” or “Est. P-17256”
inside the USDA mark of inspection. Click here for a listing.

The products
were distributed to retail and food service establishments nationwide. They
include several kinds of chicken and ham salads sold under the following
brands: Market Pantry, Archer Farms, D'Amico and Sons, Finest Traditions,
Garden Fresh, and Weis.

The FDA
discovered the problem due to testing at the company’s facility.

The FDA,
FSIS, and company haven’t received reports of illnesses from consumers who have
eaten these products. If people have concerns, they should contact a healthcare
provider.
