Nissan is recalling 450,000 vehicles in the United States and Canada.
The anti-lock brake system actuator may leak brake fluid and cause a fire. If this happens, the ABS warning lamp will light up and remain lighted on the instrument panel.
If the ABS warning lamp in a vehicle lights up continually for more than 10 seconds after the engine starts, Nissan advises consumers to stop driving the vehicle immediately and call Nissan Roadside Assistance at 800-647-7261 to arrange towing the vehicle to a Nissan dealer for repair.
The vehicles included in the recall are the Nissan Murano SUV, 2015-2018; Nissan Maxima sedan, 2016-2018; Nissan Pathfinder, 2017-2019; and Infiniti QX60, 2017-2019.
Some of the vehicles were recalled in September 2018. The recall has been expanded to include newer vehicles. If a vehicle was inspection due to the earlier recall, it should be taken to a dealer again for repair.
Consumers can enter their vehicle VIN number on the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration’s site to determine if their vehicle is included in the recall.
If consumers have questions, they can call contact Nissan Consumer Affairs at 800-867-7669.
