Sakar is recalling about 199,000 Vivitar blender bottles because the blender’s blades can keep operating when the bottle isn’t attached to the blender, posing a laceration risk.
One consumer said they where able to remove the bottle from the base while the blades were still moving. No injuries have been reported.
The clear plastic bottles comes with a white plastic base and top. Printed on a sticker on the bottle’s base are “VIVITAR,” “Description: Blender Bottle,” “ITEM: ES15-BB-TA,” and “MID #5220824.” “MID #5220824” is also stamped on the underside of the base.
The blender bottles were sold at Target stores nationwide and online at Target.com from December 2024 through January 2025. The cost was about $5.
Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled blender bottles and contact Sakar for instructions on how to receive a refund, a $5 Target gift card or a check, and a pre-paid return shipping label, the company and U.S. Consumer Produce Safety Commission advise. The recalled blender needs to be returned to Sakar to receive the refund, not to a Target store. A receipt isn’t required.
