Happy St. Patrick’s Day

Ireland Rita and Lisa Robison at the Guinness Factory 2016I love Ireland. My daughter Lisa and I went to visit in 2016.

My grandmother’s maiden name was Bailey or Baylee. We were fortunate to get a copy of our family history, and were able to meet modern day Baileys in Kilkishen, County Clare.

What a wonderful visit we had. When we flew into Dublin, it felt like I was coming home. It’s very green, just like the Seattle area where I live. The weather is similar – lots of rain.

After we visited Dublin, where we went to museums, Saint Patrick’s Cathedral, and the Guinness factory, we went to County Clare. We visited the farm where my ancestor Henry Baylee farmed. We also went to Bunratty Castle, the Cliffs of Moher, and the doleman, a rock formation that’s a single-chamber tomb in the Burren, a huge area of cracked limestone rocks.

Our trip to Ireland was fabulous. It would be fun to visit again someday.

Happy St. Patrick’s Day. If you haven’t visited Ireland, I hope you’re able to plan a trip in the future.
