It was an exciting time. The first Earth Day was April 22, 1970. The Environmental Protection Agency began operation on December 2, 1970. The League of Women Voters of Washington was having discussions on how to define the term “environment” for its studies.
Much has been accomplished since 1970. However, there is much more that needs to be done, especially on climate change.
In addition to your Earth Day and Earth Day Week activities, please also consider joining an environmental organization to help it in its work. Here are some suggestions:
