
National Consumer Protection Week is March 2-8.
It’s a coordinated campaign that encourages consumers nationwide to take advantage of their consumer rights and make better-informed decisions.
The organization offers a website, NCPW.gov, that provides information from federal and state government and non-profit organizations.
Consumers can download and print the materials, use them, and share them with friends and neighbors. Topics include:
- Banking
- Cars
- Credit, credit cards, and debt
- Health and safety
- Housing
- Identity theft
- Investing
- Scam alert
- Shopping and saving
- Technology
Among the partners are the U.S. Federal Trade Commission, AARP, state attorneys general offices, cities, the Consumer Federation of America, the Better Business Bureau, Consumers Union, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, and many others.
This year marks the 16th National Consumer Protection Week.
Take the time this week to learn tips for improving your buying skills, avoiding scams, and filing complaints when you get faulty items or poor service.
