Due to the popularity of the “Clash of the Grandmas,” a one-episode cooking competition that aired last year, the Food Network is launching new series that will feature four grandmas who will square off to win a cash prize and be the grandma cooking champion.

The Food Network is looking for grandmas for the new completion show because every one loved the special and grandmas are the best – warm, fuzzy… and sometimes sassy, said Megen Sterba, casting producer for Levity Entertainment Group.

To nominate a grandma or apply yourself, apply by April 29 by sending an email to grandmothercasting@leg-corp.com with location – city and state – in the subject line. Include:

  • Your and/or your nominee’s name.
  • Your and/or your nominee’s contact information – phone number and email address.
  • Your or nominee’s occupation – or former occupation, if retired.

  • Your or nominee’s location – city and state.
  • Your or nominee’s cooking or chef experience, cooking style, signature dishes, and why you believe that you or your nominee would be a great contestant for the show.
  • Photo of your or nominated grandma, including photos with the kids and/or grandkids and photos of food cooked by you or your nominee, if possible.

It sounds like fun. “Chopped” on the Food Network is one of my favorite TV programs. I might even apply for the grandma challenge myself.
