Everyday bargains that I appreciate

Recently, I wrote about the savings I made at Black Friday sales this year where I saved $300 – actually $300.25. I was elated.

When I made my Christmas card, pictured above, this year on the Walgreens website, I made a point to get it done on Saturday, before a 60 percent off deal on cards expired. It made me think of how much I appreciate getting money off regularly, not just on the big holiday sales.

Here are some of the everyday deals that I enjoy:

Walgreens

Deals on photos, cards, and personalized gifts such as coffee cups, water containers, photo books, t-shirts, and more are frequently offered. Photo print deals are often for 100 photos or more so you need to collect enough photos to get the bargain, right now which is 12 cents a copy. The usual price is 39 cents.

Trader Joe’s

Fortunately, three years ago, I went with my family to T-Mobile to sign up my grandson and me for a family plan, since he was coming to the United States from Madrid to go to college. Trader Joe’s was next door, so we dropped in after the several visits it took to finally get the T-Mobile plan operational.

I’d given up on Trader Joe’s earlier because almost everything – produce and desserts – was wrapped in plastic, often times individually. It’s doing much better now. I shop regularly at Trader Joe’s. What I like is that many of their organic products are less expensive that the local co-op where I purchase a lot of my food. Examples include canned beans, as a vegan I eat a lot of them; canned, diced tomatoes; potatoes; sweet potatoes; toilet paper; paper towels; nuts; berries; bananas; persimmons; vegan substitutes for meat and cheese; applesauce; and more.

Costco

In the past, I’ve written articles on Costco’s prices compared to other stores. Even with the yearly membership, I save money on hydrogen peroxide, vinegar, berries, canned beans, canned tomato sauce, energy bars, nuts, batteries, disposable gloves, acid reflux medication, plant-based milk, spinach, and more. In addition, Costco usually has the best berries throughout the year. The quality of the berries at the co-op and Trader Joe’s often declines in the off season.

What stores or online companies do you regularly use that have lower prices or frequent sales? Let me know in the comments below.
