Eddie Bauer and Disney inclined sleepers recalled by Dorel Juvenile Group USA due to infant deaths in other inclined sleepers

Inclined Sleepers Recalled by Dorel Juvenile Group USA Due to Safety Concerns

Dorel Juvenile Group USA is recalling about 24,000 inclined sleepers sold under the Eddie Bauer and Disney brand names.

Infant fatalities have been reported while using other inclined sleepers, after the infants rolled from their back to their stomach or side while unrestrained, or under other circumstances.

This recall involves the Eddie Bauer Slumber and Soothe Bassinet with model number BT055CSY and the Disney Baby Doze and Dream Bassinet with model number BT071DHS. The model numbers are located on a label on the underneath side of the fabric of the inclined sleeper pad.

The inclined sleepers are rectangular shaped with a soft bottom, cushioned fabric, stand about two feet off the floor, and are designed for sleeping or napping infants from birth to six months. The Eddie Bauer inclined sleeper is beige, and the Disney sleeper is purple.

The inclined sleepers were sold at Target, Kmart, Ross, Marshalls, TJ Maxx, and juvenile product stores nationwide from November 2014 through February 2017 for about $60.

Consumers should immediately stop using the inclined sleepers, the company and U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission advise, and contact Dorel for a refund, which is a $60 voucher.

Fisher-Price recalled about 4.7 million Rock ‘n Play Sleepers in April after the CPSC said more than 30 infant deaths occurred in the sleepers in a decade.
