Consumer Reports is offering a new TV program this fall. I urge consumers to watch it. So much advertising floods our TV watching that this program, designed to educate consumers, is a welcome relief.

The host Jack Rico will take viewers behind the scenes at Consumer Reports to get advice and information that help consumers tackle life’s daily decisions — from how to get cleaner clothes to understand what’s really in your food

Rico was born and raised in Queens, New York. He's a frequent contributor to NBC's "Today Show" and NBCNews.com. As a journalist, he co-anchored Univision's first Spanish-language morning newscast in New York City.

The program will be aired Saturday morning with "Consumer 101" on NBC.
