Happy New Year

Happy New Year. I spent most of yesterday working on an article about the top consumer stories of 2019. Today, I’ll be working on the top consumer stories of the decade. I don’t know whether to laugh or cry.

Yes, boomers are doing O.K.

Carol Cassara of A Healing Spirit is still a Beatles fan, and, all these years later when she hears one of their songs, she’s instantly transported back to the 1960s. An image of a van, like the one in the photo, which was popular at the time, does the same thing.

Happy Thanksgiving

Best wishes to you and all your loved ones on Thanksgiving Day. I’m fortunate to be able to celebrate with my daughter and her family this year. I’m thankful for my friends and family, my journalism work, and for our country.

Baby boomers get ready for the holidays and look beyond

I’m stressed. The holidays are coming, and I’ve been working on my book about my journalism career instead of getting ready. However, I put on a “full court press” and have sent out my holiday cards and presents. Whew. It was a big job to do in a couple of weeks.

Baby boomers bundle up and keep writing

Burr. An early chill descended across the county, and Jennifer Koshak of Unfold and Begin said they were even feeling it in Florida. One day, the daytime temps didn’t get out of the ’50s. Sigh. Although we don’t often have snow here in the Seattle area, it’s been cold.
