A fantastic thing happened. My daughter Mona planned a trip to Santa Barbara, California, for us to visit my long-time friend, Sue Lean, who moved there last March.
Mona lives in Sacramento, so we drove the six hours to Santa Barbara for our visit.
Our visit began with a trip to the Santa Barbara Botanic Garden. It was a beautiful day with blue skies and warm weather, so appreciated by someone from the Seattle area. That’s Sue and me in the photo above.
It was such fun to visit my dear friend, whom I miss so much.
The trip also was a terrific way to get my mind off how the Trump administration and Elon Musk are slashing through our important federal agencies. I keep reading newspapers all day long, looking for articles in opposition and what’s going on to stop him.
And, I’m writing articles how the Trump administration is harming consumer agencies such as the gutting of the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau and reducing staff for food safety programs.
Meanwhile, my blogger friends also are writing about what’s going on with them these days:
Meryl Baer
Meryl Baer of Musings of a Shore Life isn’t usually a political writer, but sometimes she feels like she needs to vent, which is what she did this week in her post “Out of Step Out of Line.”
Rebecca Olkowski

Shoes that pinch and cause blisters, or even worse, falls, aren’t something women over 60 want to deal with. Rebecca Olkowski with BabyBoomster.com writes about what to look for when shopping for shoes.
Laurie Stone
After 45 years of marriage, you get to know someone well. Although Laurie Stone of Laurie Stone Writes has things she does better than her husband, running the house comes to mind, she admits he has his own unique skill set. Here are the top five talents that always make her a little envious…
