Fathers are and can be many things. I’m thinking today about my dad and how much I miss him. Still.

My dad, a stern man, taught me the value of hard work and being honest.
When I was a teenager, I could hardly wait to leave home and be on my own. I thought I knew a lot and my parents weren’t up-to-date on life.
I like this quote from the Quote Garden:
When I was a boy of fourteen, my father was so ignorant I could hardly stand to have the old man around. But when I got to be twenty-one, I was astonished at how much he had learned in seven years. ~ Mark Twain, “Old Times on the Mississippi” Atlantic Monthly, 1874
I hope you have a great Father’s Day celebration or phone conversation with your dad, if he’s far away.
If your dad has passed away like mine, memories will have to do.
