Baby boomer bloggers take a look at 2014

I’m the host for this week’s Best of Boomer Blogs #339.

Cecilia New Years Eve

This week, baby boomer bloggers are writing about the New Year.

Make a resolution

Amy Blitchok, who writes the Modern Senior, suggests you take a look her article for a perspective on New Year’s resolutions and what might be the best resolution you can make for 2014. While the New Year provides the opportunity to take stock and set goals, it can also turn into a time when we become hypercritical of ourselves.

Take a quiz

Tom Sightings of Sightings Over Sixty says he doesn’t have the determination to make resolutions or the foresight to make predictions. Instead, every New Year he comes up with a Sightings Over Sixty quiz. This year you can find out:  Are You Prepared for Retirement? by taking a 14-question test. If you’re in the mood for taking more tests, you can also figure out: Are You a Baby Boomer? and take two other quizzes under the Pages banner as well.

Ponder the meaning of life

As we enter a New Year and Martin Rice of Fifty 2 Ninety enters the beginning of what he see as deep old age, he thought it might be a good time to take stock of what the meaning and purpose of his life is, or even whether there is any meaning or purpose. He says he came up with some surprises.

Learn about seniors

Karen D. Austin at The Generation Above Me is celebrating her second Blogoversary as she rings in the New Year with a post about her blog’s past, present, and future.

Get organized

On my blog, I write about top 10 tips for consumers in 2014. Among them are taking a look at your goals: reviewing your savings, investment, and retirement strategies; getting your financial papers organized; comparing prices; filing complaints; and avoiding scams.

So Happy New Year to you, our faithful and valued readers. We wish you a fun and successful 2014.
