Which consumer happenings cheered you this week and which ones made you want to scream or weep?
Here are my best and worst consumer experiences this week:
My best: Great photos for greeting cards

When I went to Ritz Camera to pick up my photos to use on the greeting cards I sell, I received a pleasant surprise. The photos were unusually bright, even one taken inside under difficult lighting conditions. I complimented the staff, which they liked. I’m not shy about making complaints when something is wrong.
My worst: Surprising changes at AOL News
About a month ago, I began writing consumer articles for WalletPop’s Consumer Ally, a part of AOL News.
As I was working on my articles Thursday, I received an e-mail from my boss, Mitch Lipka, saying that he and the rest of the staff had been fired. I was shocked.
Friday, I received an e-mail from another AOL employee saying that Consumer Ally would continue, at least for a while.
Apparently, AOL is firing staffers due to the purchase of The Huffington Post. See Politico’s “Nearly 900 Jobs Axed at AOL” for details.
