Which consumer happenings cheered you this week and which ones made you want to scream or weep?
Here are my best and worst consumer experiences this week:
My best: Seeing the Occupy Olympia protest

I agree with those in the United States and around the world who are protesting against the greed of Wall Street. I applaud the thousands of people who are gathering in a peaceful manner to make their voices heard.
When I was out taking photos of the fall colors before the storms hit, I appreciated seeing consumers who were taking the time to protest the Wall Street actions that have caused so much havoc in America and around the world.
My worst: Trying to get the blood tests my doctor wanted
After calling a medical lab about their hours, I rushed to get a blood test before they closed for lunch at 12:30 p.m.
I arrived at 12:15 p.m. After I give the receptionist my lab order, she informed me that one of the tests the doctor wanted probably wouldn’t be covered by my first insurance. The cost was $282. I asked if she would call my second insurance company about it. She said no. The company doesn’t deal with second insurances, she said.
I asked if I could go out to my car and get my planner so I could call them. She said no. She and the technician wanted to rush through my appointment so they could go to lunch. She told me I could come back after lunch. I didn’t want to do that because I was fasting for the test and was getting hungry.
I had to sign the paper that I didn’t want the test. It was a very upsetting experience.
In addition, the technician rushed through the procedure, using a swab I was allergic to before I could stop her.
