Yesterday I wrote about how harmful the Trump-Republican 2006 victory is going to be for American consumers.
Today, I’m writing about how appalling his election is to me.
All my life, I’ve had to deal with dominant, yelling men – at home, in school, in the workplace, and in social situations.
By 2016, you’d expect that men would have learned to treat women with more respect.
However, we have a president elect who makes fun of how women look, called breastfeeding disgusting, called female journalists a dog and a bimbo, said women who have abortions should be punished, said Hillary Clinton wasn’t strong enough to cope with being president, called a Miss America Miss Piggy and Miss Housekeeping, and rated female Apprentice candidates by the size of their breasts and talked about which ones he’d like to have sex with.
He also bragged about going backstage during Miss America pageants so he could see the contestants changing their clothes.
In addition, he talked on tape about grabbing women’s private parts. He said, “When you’re a star, they let you do it.”
What? Why would anyone, male or female vote for him?
While there is a lot of conversation about race relations in America, discrimination against women is seldom discussed.
The Trump candidacy and his election show that we have a long way to go for equality for women in America.
One-third of Latino men voted for Trump, despite his strong statements that he’ll deport any undocumented immigrants. Voting for a man who may deport some of your family members? Unbelievable.
Trump is a disgusting man. Instead of having the first woman president, we have a misogynist. Unbelievable and depressing. What a terrible example for our sons and daughters.
A friend said Democrats will win the House and Senate in 2018. Then, Trump will be impeached. Oh, I hope so. Thinking about Trump in the White House with his anti-women views is unbearable.
