About 65 percent of Americans plan to celebrate Halloween this year, up from 58 percent in 2020 and near the 68 percent celebrating in 2019 before the covid-19 pandemic, according to a survey conducted for the National Retail Federation.

Consumer spending for Halloween is expected to reach an all-time high of $10.14 billion, up from $8.05 billion in 2020.

The favorite costumes this year, according to the survey, are:

  1. Rat fink? That’s funny. One time I went to a singles Halloween party. The guy I was dating went as a clown and flirted with a woman dressed as a male p**is.

  2. I haven’t dressed in a Halloween costume since elementary school. But I love to see the kids in the neighborhood all decked out in their costumes.
