As we approach the last leg of summer, which includes my bountiful
garden, baby boomer bloggers are writing about spiritual growth, places to
visit, and consumer studies.
Is there any scientific evidence to substantiate the stereotype that
people grow more spiritual as they age? Karen Austin at The Generation Above Me
summarizes the results of a 40-year study that not only found age differences but
gender differences in spirituality.
Laura Lee of the Midlife Crisis Queen just saw a PBS special called “The Buddha,”
which inspired her to write: “What I Have Learned From the
Buddha.”
John Agno at So Baby Boomer tells us that to highlight the 250th anniversary of the building of
historic Johnson Hall and the development of its surrounding estate, the
state of New York historic site north of Albany will present special interpretive walking tours
during the 2013 season.
Tom Sightings of Sightings Over Sixty went to the beach last week
for a midsummer respite from the heat. He’s been home now for a few days, which
has led him to reflect on “How You Know Your Vacation Is Over.”
On my blog, I wrote about a Consumer Federation of America analysis,
which showed that half of the largest auto insurers are charging high school
graduates and blue-collar workers higher rates.
