There’s so much going on in the world, it was almost annoying to see so many headlines about Kim Karsashian’s nude photos.
Then, there was Kim gushing about how great it was to work with photographer Jean-Paul Goude.
It turns out that Goude has a history of exploiting black women in his photos. And, he used the pose of Kim opening the champagne bottle and it going up over her head and into glass resting on her backside with a black model in 1976. The portrait was published in his book called “Jungle Fever.”
Kim also gushed about how her frontal nude photo made her feel more confident. What?
What in the world was she trying to accomplish?
One CNN panel debated whether the nude photo stunt was dumb or a shrewd business move. One commentator pointed that Kim first became famous due to pornography. In February 2007, Kim became famous when a sex tape made by her and Ray J in 2003 was leaked.
I think her nude photo shoot was short sighted, and the photos are demeaning. I think it shows poor taste.
The only time I’ve watched the Kardashian’s TV reality series was when Kim was married to Kris Humphries for 72 days. I wanted to see what went wrong with the short marriage. I concluded that they were ill matched.
I had thought before seeing the Kardashian's program, and watching those few programs reinforced my thinking, that it’s a shame that the Kardashians are set forth as a family that people watch as a model for family dynamics.
But, the Kardashians are making money.
As of May 2014, Kim is estimated to be worth $45 million.
