In the past several years, I haven’t had many trick-or-treaters. We’ll see what happens tonight. I’m not in much of a holiday-celebratory mood. Typepad, the platform for my blog, has been migrating data all weekend, so I haven’t been able to post anything or see how many page views I have.
It’s Halloween, time to get the treats ready, and maybe a costume for you and the kids, too. I got a kick out of reading an article from my blog coach, J. Money at Budgets Are Sexy, on some good – and frugal costumes. Among them is static cling, wear normal clothes and safety pin socks and lint to it.
Getting older in America is a challenge many ways. And, it seems that the older I get, the more ageism I face, especially from the medical community. My blogger friends are thinking and writing about aging, too. Here are their thoughts on the topic:

On Labor Day, the day when we recognize the value of American workers, it’s positive that things for workers are better right now. Covid-19 contributed to the Great Resignation of 2021, during which record numbers of people quit their jobs. A recent survey shows that one-third of workers are still looking for a new job.
As summer comes to a close, cheer yourself up with shopping at the Labor Day sales. With the holiday as the unofficial end of summer season, you’re likely to be able to find huge sales on a variety of items. Labor Day sales are already underway at many retail outlets and online.
Today, the first Sunday of August, is National Friends Day. I’m very thankful for my friends and the support and joy they bring in my life. Some of your relatives may be pleasant and supportive. However, they may live far away. Other relatives may not like you no matter what you do.
