Since everyone is online more during the pandemic, there’s an increased urgency about fixing computers if there’s a problem. Scammers, as always, are lurking around just looking for a new opportunity to strike. They’re offering even more phony tech support services.

Winter storms with feet of snow are making their way across the nation. Even here in the Seattle area, we had more than a foot of snow. With snow storms blanketing the eastern United States, including Georgia and South Carolina, thousands are or have been without power. Food poisoning is a real threat during a power outage.

New steps are being taken by a safety agency to eliminate deadly hazards from residential elevators. Children can become entrapped in the space between the exterior landing door and the interior elevator car door if there’s a hazardous gap, and suffer injuries or death when the elevator is called to another floor.

Scammers and fraudsters are always lurking around, and they’re especially adept at taking the latest happenings and pouncing. It’s not a surprise then that fake and unauthorized at-home testing kits are popping up online as scammers take advantage of the increase in demand.
