Bloggers are busy as spring hesitantly begins

Backyard with White SkyThe TV weatherman and I must have had a misunderstanding. I watched the weather forecast carefully and I was sure he said, with enthusiasm, that Sunday would be the best day of weather coming up.

As a result, I made a plan. Saturday, I’d get housework done, and Sunday would be great for yardwork.

Although it was sunny in the morning, by the time I got out in the yard in the afternoon, the blue sky was gone. As I hurried through several hours of yard work, I felt a few sprinkles toward the end. Now, it’s raining steadily.

My blogger friends also are busy as spring begins slowly with whisper of hope:

What women over 50 don’t want to wear

Are you frustrated when you shop for clothing as an older woman? Rebecca Olkowski with BabyBoomster.com found a thread online where older women voiced their opinions to clothing retailers about what types of clothes they don’t want to wear. Some of it’s pretty funny. Enjoy.

Whether dogs should sleep in the bed

Laurie Stone of Laurie Stone Writes wonders if her terrier Libby should be allowed to sleep with her and her husband Randy each night … or should Libby be made to stay in her crate? Practical people remind her that Libby is a dog. “Don’t allow her on furniture of any kind, including the bed,” they say. Then there are the softies. “What’s the harm of her sleeping with you? Dogs need their packs.”  See “Did the Crate Change … Or Did Libby” to see what was decided.

Walking each other through this life

As she ages, Carol Cassara of Carol A. Cassara Writer can’t help but think about “what comes next.” Cassara has written often about it on her blog, but this one talks about putting life in perspective – how we’re all “walking each other home.”

Something possibly catastrophic happening close to home

Meryl Baer of Musings of a Shore Life noticed a news article this week that brought back less than fond memories of a past event. Baer’s mind wandered back decades to the historic event that touched her family. The year was 1979, and she briefly reviews the occurrence in this week's post “An Almost Disastrous 1979 Event Remembered.”

  1. Yes, I’m looking out the window right now and hoping for sunshine so I can take photos of the cherry blossoms at our state’s capital.
