As fall turns into winter, bloggers see Halloween slide by and Election Day finally arriving

Along with getting my yard ready for winter, I prepared for and enjoyed Halloween.

Rita Robison Voting at Ballot Box

Next on the fall agenda is Election Day. I’ve voted, Washington state has mail-in ballots, and I’m looking forward to getting the election results at last on Tuesday.

I’ll be joining my friends for an election night party. I’m looking forward to it. It’s been a difficult couple of years, especially with hateful, violent, and vulgar language from Donald Trump and his campaign.

My blogging friends also are busy, writing about what’s going on in their lives, too:

Carol Cassara

As the weather chills for many of us, Carol Cassara of Carol A. Cassara Writes points out it’s time to get cozy. Cassara’s got some good ideas to help us all relax and warm up – physically and emotionally.

Meryl Baer

The season of consuming yummy and high-calorie treats, starting with Halloween and continuing almost nonstop through December, has arrived. The purchase of Halloween goodies for trick and treaters triggered a recent memory about an iconic and much-loved confection for Meryl Baer of Musings of a Shore Life. Baer delights in a favorite in this week’s post “In Praise of a Cookie.”

Laurie Stone

It seemed like the perfect place for Laurie Stone of Laurie Stone Writes and her mom to spend two nights in historic Salem, Massachusetts – a large yellow colonial house built in 1834, graceful and majestic. They’d booked into the town’s inn, but there was an overflow, so they ended up staying in one of the hotel’s annexes, this yellow house a few blocks away. At first all seemed fine, until the next morning they noticed something strange.

Rebecca Olkowski

Rebecca Olkowski of BabyBoomster.com is finally joining the ranks of being a grandma. Olkowski’s daughter had a baby boy on Halloween. She writes about the difference between giving birth during the 1980s and today.

  1. So good to see you voting. So many people mailed in ballots or voted in person early in Connecticut, me included! Now let’s keep fingers crossed. A prayer or two might not hurt.

  2. I’m confident the election will turn out well. However, the Right will continue its negative, bullying tactics in hopes they can win the presidency again. They’re doing well at the state level, unfortunately, and they’ll certainly continue their efforts there. Locally, too, unfortunately, in some places.
