Here’s what happened to me this week:

My best consumer experience: Using digital photography to take hundreds of photos of fall colors

I couldn’t have done it without digital photography. I took 1,500 photos of fall colors in and around the Olympia, Wash., area. I wrote “How to Take Photos of Fall Colors” with my 10 best photos and “Fall Colors: My Best Photos for 2009” with my top 100 photos.

A film project with that many photos would have been too expensive. Also, I would have had to wait to see my results. I might have missed unique fall color photo opportunities.

I had fun and experienced much joy from the project.

My worst consumer experience: Bad food at a Mexican restaurant

My friend injured his foot, so we changed the location of our Friday night outing to a Mexican restaurant. It would be easier for him to negotiate with his crutches there rather than the downtown restaurant with curbs and perhaps distant parking.

Our dinners were good, but after we finished them, I got a bad stomachache. I had to leave the restaurant quickly.

The food may have been spoiled; I had a Seafood Chimichanga, but I asked to not have it deep fat fried. Or, I could have been allergic to something in the food.

Not a good consumer experience.
