Which consumer happenings cheered you this week and which ones made you want to scream or weep?
Here are my best and worst consumer experiences this week:
My best: Cheap ticket for trip to Sacramento

Recently, I received an e-mail from Alaska about $40 fares to a number of cities. A few days later, I checked to see if I could get a cheap ticket to Sacramento to see my granddaughter perform in a play early next year.
I clicked on the special but Sacramento wasn’t one of the cities listed. I was disappointed. I decided to try a Sacramento ticket and see what the price would be. I entered my dates and there it was. At $40 each way, plus tax, the total price of the ticket was $101.
It’s the cheapest ticket I’ve ever seen to Sacramento. What luck. I’m thrilled. I was beginning to think cheap tickets were a myth.
My worst: Getting the shipping I wanted for an online order
When I ordered a book from Amazon.com, I had a huge amount of difficulty. My password wouldn’t work, so I had to create another one.
Then I couldn’t find a company that would send the book with expedited shipping. New or used, I couldn’t find anything but Standard shipping and another category, faster than Standard, which takes six to 12 days.
In frustration, I selected the second one. It’s doubtful my book will arrive in time.
I think that all companies that ship through Amazon.com should offer expedited shipping.
