Do you have a Christmas movie that you like best?
I don’t. And the Christmas movies I’ve been watching, since the programs I usually enjoy have gone on vacation, have been mostly terrible.
I did an Internet search to find lists of the top Christmas movies of all time. I was shocked. “Elf” and “Home Alone” appeared on many of the lists. These are awful movies, in my opinion.
Here’s a list of “Top 10 Christmas Movies” by Collider.com:
- “A Christmas Story” – 1983
- “It’s a Wonderful Life” – 1946
- “The Muppet Christmas Carol” – 1992
- “Planes, Trains, and Automobiles” – 1987
- “National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation” – 1989
- “The Polar Express” – 2001
- “Home Alone” – 1990
- “Elf” – 2003
- Miracle on 34th Street” – 1947
- “Scrooged” – 1988
Do you like any of these movies? Others?
I find the TV offerings before Christmas extremely lacking, including the movies. Even the Food Network is showing more reruns than usual.

My kids and I saw Arthur Christmas yesterday and we loved it! It was funny and original and creative and just right for their age group. However, it was only the third day since its release and we were alone in the theater, so I think it will not be a hit!
Hi Lisa,
It’s good to know that you enjoyed a new Christmas movie. Hollywood can do a good job, but often doesn’t.

We have a family tradition of watching Christmas movies over the week leading up to the holiday. I would have to say my favorites are Elf, Home Alone, and Rudolf. Here is list and complete run down of my top 11 Christmas movies http://bit.ly/rzH23s
