The chemicals used in hotels and motels bother me, so when I travel, I see if I can find a bed and breakfast to stay in instead.
I've had good results, usually, finding ones that are terrific. And, the fun part is that you get to visit with the host or hostess and, sometimes, other guests.
The price, I've found, is a little more than the cheapest motels, but not as high as the most expensive hotels.
