World Cancer Day takes place every year on February 4 and is an initiative of the Union for International Cancer Control, its members, and partners to unite the world in the fight against the global cancer epidemic.
The theme for World Cancer Day 2015 is “Not beyond us.” It highlights existing solutions across the cancer continuum.
The campaign explores how to carry out what is know in the areas of prevention, early detection, treatment, and care to impact the global cancer burden – for the better.
Four key areas of focus are:
- Choosing healthy lives.
- Delivering early detection.
- Achieving treatment for all.
- Maximizing quality of life.
