Out West

  • Santa Barbara – Start the morning visiting one of Santa Barbara’s many beaches before heading to State Street for a day of shopping. Next, visit the Funk Zone neighborhood where you can experience local beer, wine, and food. Round out the trip at the Old Santa Barbara Mission to see 200-year-old architecture and 12 acres of landscaped gardens.
  • Sedona, Arizona – Sedona’s red rock canyons and pine forests offer one-day hikes or you can relax at the Adobe Grand Villas. Seven wineries and eight tasting rooms also are available on Sedona’s Verde Wine Trail.

East Coast

  • Portland, Maine – Portland is the largest city in Maine, but it’s small enough to be enjoyed over a three-day weekend. Travelers can enjoy Maine lobster and craft beer near the Portland Harbor, while watching the ships come in and out of one of the busiest ports on the East Coast.
  • Annapolis, Maryland – Annapolis’ U.S. history, delicious seafood, and waterfront views can be explored in a few days. Spend the morning at one of the city’s museums before heading to Main Street for lunch and visit Ego Alley to see expensive boats that parade through the waterway on evenings and weekends.

  • Grand Rapids, Michigan – Spend a day strolling through the city enjoying the many art installations from ArtPrize, then dine at the Grove, a farm-to-table restaurant. You can also experience Grand Rapids’ sustainability movement at the Downtown Market and the Grand Rapids Art Museum, the world’s first LEED certified museum.
  • Madison, Wisconsin – Just two hours north of Chicago, Madison has a large selection of craft beers and Wisconsin’s famous cheese curds. Select one of the city’s two dozen bicycle route, then head back to town and go to The Old Fashioned for beers, brats, and cheese.

Down South

  • Nashville, Tennessee – With its famous food and music opportunities, Nashville has something for everyone. After you’ve visited Nashville hot spots, head to East Nashville, the more laid back side of town. Eat at the Lockeland Table, watch a show at the Family Wash, a former laundromat, or visit Fond Object Records for records and vintage clothing.
  • Charleston, South Caroline – A port town filled with historic streets and horse-drawn carriages, Charleston offers beaches, museums, shopping, and history.
