More than 20,000 off-road motorcycles are being recalled due to brake defect

Because the front brake caliper can crack, which reduces the braking system’s effectiveness and poses a crash risk, KTM is recalling about 19,310 off-road motorcycles in the United States and 3,870 in Canada.

No injuries have been reported.

The recall applies to GASGAS and Husqvarna off-road motorcycles manufactured between 2022 and 2025, which operate under the KTM AG umbrella.

Owners can identify affected models by the 10th character of the vehicle identification number, or VIN, located on the right side of the steering column: “N” for 2022, “P” for 2023, “R” for 2024, and “S” for 2025.

The red GASGAS off-road motorcycles have the white GASGAS logo on both sides. The Husqvarna motorcycles are white, blue, and yellow with the Husqvarna logo on the sides.

The motorcycles were sold at GASGAS and Husqvarna authorized dealers nationwide from January 2022 through August 2024. The cost was between $10,000 and $13,000.

Consumers should immediately stop riding the recalled motorcycles and contact an authorized GASGAS Motorcycles or Husqvarna Motorcycles dealer to schedule a free inspection and free repair at the dealership, the company and U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission advise. The front brake caliper needs to be inspected by an authorized dealer to determine if it’s defective.
