Char-Broil is recalling more than 210,000 digital electric smokers. The smokers can leak electrical current during use, posing an electric shock hazard. Char-Broil has received 79 reports of consumers who experienced a minor electric shock from touching the smokers while in use. This recall includes the following models:
Bissell is recalling 142,000 vacuum cleaners in the United States and 14,600 in Canada. The battery pack of the Multi Reach Hand and Floor vacuum cleaners can overheat and smoke, posing a fire hazard. Bissell has received 17 reports of the recalled vacuum cleaners smoking and emitting a burning odor.
Home Design is recalling 517,177 upholstered low profile standard and platform beds in the United States and 55,857 in Canada. The recalled beds can break, sag, or collapse during use, posing fall and injury hazards to consumers. The company has received 128 reports of incidents, involving 36 injuries.
Millions of furniture tip restraints kits made by New Age Industries that were sold with dressers, chests, and other clothing storage furniture in the United States are being recalled. Because the plastic zip tie in the kits can become brittle or break, furniture that is supposed to be anchored to the wall can detach, posing a risk of death or injuries to children.

It’s a huge recall that’s making the front pages of newspapers as well as TV newscasts. I saw the blender at Costco and considered buying it. My old blender gave out, so I’m making smoothies in my food processor, which takes time to clean. I usually check out appliance purchases at Consumer Reports, so I skipped the impulse purchase.
High-powered magnets are dangerous to kids. About 2,400 cases of magnets being ingested were treated in hospital emergency departments from 2017 through 2021. Seven deaths occurred. When the magnets are swallowed, they can cause perforations, twisting and/or blockage of the intestines, infection, blood poisoning, and death.
World Against Toys Causing Harm announced its 51st annual nominees for the “10 Worst Toys” of the year. Although intended for fun and entertainment, many toys contain hidden hazards unnecessarily putting children at risk of harm. Making safe toys needs to be the top priority in the design, manufacture, and marketing of children’s playthings.
Best Buy is recalling about 930,000 Insignia pressure cookers. Inaccurate volume markings inside the pot can cause overfilling, resulting in hot food and liquid erupting when the pressure cooker is opened, posing a burn risk to consumers. Best Buy has received 31 reports of the contents erupting, including 17 reports of burn injuries.
