Happy Thanksgiving during covid-19 times

Best wishes on Thanksgiving Day. I hope it’s a day of joy for you and your loved ones. Things are better for me than last year when I started looking for a Thanksgiving dinner late and ended up going to a grocery store deli to get fixings for my dinner.

Tips for holiday shopping 2021

Holiday spending during November and December will grow between 8.5 percent and 10.5 percent over 2020 to between $843.4 billion and $859 billion, according to a survey conducted for the National Retail Federation. The NRF expects that online and other non-store sales will increase between 11 and 15 percent.

Facts and figures for Thanksgiving 2021

Most Americans will be celebrating Thanksgiving Thursday. Unlike last year, when covid-19 cases were high, more people will be gathering with friends and family. Last year, I ordered a duck dinner from an expensive French restaurant. I wasn’t going out much and was ordering all my groceries for pick up.

Think safety first during the holidays

Unsafe toys, cooking fires, decorating, holiday trees, and candles lead to thousands of injuries and deaths each year. Take safety precautions to avoid potential dangers, and possible emergency room visits, associated with these common holiday items.

Watch out for holiday shopping scams

Scammers use a number of tactics to steal during the holidays, ranging from online shopping scams, to scams involving the draining of gift cards, to package and shipping scams. Seventy-five percent of consumers have been targeted or experienced at least one form of fraud that can be tied to the holidays.

Where to shop for the best Black Friday deals

Black Friday is a time that super sale shoppers look forward to every year. It’s possible to get good deals, and even great deals, but you need to compare prices so you don’t get tricked. This is easier this year because Black Friday sales have already started and consumers can do research online.

It’s Veterans Day

Veterans Day, which became a national holiday in 1938, is a day to recognize the contributions of the nation’s veterans. In a proclamation, President Joe Biden said: To those who serve and those that serve alongside them – their families and caregivers – we owe a debt we can never fully repay.

How the chip shortage could affect your holiday shopping

Many of things you may buy for the holidays, such as toys, laptops, and phones, have chips in them. Since there’s a global chip shortage, prices are going up, and items with chips will probably be harder to find. Scammers are taking advantage of these shortages and are trying to sell items in short supply.
