In the Seattle area on Sunday, the sky’s blue and it’s cold. That often happens here – when it’s not raining in the winter, it’s cold.
I’m looking forward to spring, my favorite time of year, and planting my garden and seeing my rhododendrons bloom. Weeds, not so much.
So, today I’m talking about the weather, what one often does when there are things you don’t want to face. Monday, President-elect Donald J. Trump will be sworn into office. I’ve starting drafting my article – “Inauguration Day: The Foxes Are in the Henhouse.”
Meanwhile, my blogging pals are reporting on what they’re thinking and doing:
Carol Cassara
A flash from the past this week on Carol Cassara’s blog, Carol A. Cassara Writer, where she shares with us a post from four years ago on the origins of cruelty. Since, Cassara says, it feels so appropriate again this week.
Rebecca Olkowski
Rebecca Olkowski with BabyBoomster.com evacuated from the Eaton Fire in Altadena, California, located in Los Angeles County, and is now dealing with FEMA and relocating to her daughter’s home. It was a devastating fire in Los Angeles caused by 70-100 miles per hour Santa Ana winds. Areas most affected were Altadena and Pacific Palisades. Olkowski lists important landmarks that were lost in her Los Angeles travel blog BoominginLA.com.
Meryl Baer
Meryl Baer of Musings of a Shore Life is escaping the brutally cold winter her hometown is experiencing this year. Baer headed south to a small mountain town in Mexico and describes the long trip to her destination in this week’s post, “A Very Long Air Travel Day.”
Laurie Stone
It started out as an ordinary night, Laurie Stone of Laurie Stone Writes says. Yorkie Libby wanted to go outside to do her business around 10 p.m. (Yes, the terrier does that sometimes). Stone sighed, getting up from her comfortable bed where she’d been watching Netflix. She noticed the dog seemed especially frantic about getting out the door, yipping, circling, and doing her high.jpgtched aria as the leash was put on. They zoomed outside. And that’s when Stone smelled it.

Lots on our minds, these days, right?
Great post Rita. Thank you.
Yes, I’m finishing up writing up an article about how the foxes are in the henhouse now.
