Here are my best and worst consumer experiences this week:

My best: A set of great photos of ‘suffragettes’ marching in the Lakefair Parade

It’s the 100th anniversary of votes for women in Washington state. Washington was the fifth state to grant women the right to vote in 1910. It was the turning point in the national campaign.

A historic exhibit is traveling around the state, and many activities have been held and are scheduled.

One fun event was a group of women dressed as suffragettes marching in the Olympia Lakefair Parade. In addition to marching, some rode in antique cars.

I took photos of the parade. It was a great experience to see the women dressed in costumes and think about our foremothers and the work they did to make sure women could vote.

I enjoyed picking out my best 86 best photos, editing them, and seeing the prints. I put the photos on CDs for a photo party where we shared photos and watched a video that was made of the suffragettes marching.

My worst: Finding my case of toilet paper was 20 rolls short

Toilet Paper Shortage

Last week, I wrote about how great it was to get my case of Envision toilet paper just in time.

However, when I opened it, I noticed the top rows were jumbled. That was strange. Usually, the rolls are tightly packed in the case.

I counted the rolls. There were 60, not the 80 I was supposed to get. The entire top row was missing.

The Olympia Food Co-op was very nice about it. I called, and the staff person asked what I wanted to do. I said I’d like 20 rolls to make up for the shortage. She said she’d put them in a box for me.

I was relieved I didn’t have to bring the heavy box back to the co-op. I took photos of the front of the case and the inside showing the shortage so the co-op could contact their supplier about it.
