On this day that we celebrate the life and work of Martin Luther King Jr., the accomplishments in achieving equal rights for all bring great joy.
But along with the recognition of what’s been accomplished, the nation needs to continue to work on eliminating injustice.
An important part of that work, in my opinion, is the eradication of poverty.
I’d like to see partisan politics put aside and plans developed to positively address poverty. I’d like to see action programs to help young minority men and women find work.
