Trek Bicycle is recalling about 316,500 Bontrager Satellite City Bicycle Pedals in the United States and about 28,650 in Canada. If the recalled pedals are incorrectly installed by the retailer during assembly, they can fall off the crank arm of the bicycle, posing fall and injury hazards to the rider.
Klein Tools is recalling about 1,690,000 non-contact voltage testers in the U.S. and 67,800 in Canada. The on/off button can remain depressed during the power on or power off cycle. Consumers testing electrical sources could fail to be warned about live voltage, posing a shock hazard to the users.
Fisher-Price is recalling about 120,000 4-in-1 Rock ‘n Glide Soothers and 55,000 2-in-1 Soothe ‘n Play Gliders. About 25,000 4-in-1 Rock ‘n Glide Soothers and 27,000 2-in-1 Soothe ‘n Play Gliders were sold in Canada. Infants placed unrestrained in the product who turn on their stomach can suffocate.
The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission approved a new rule Wednesday to regulate products sold for infant sleep for babies under 5 months old. Beginning in mid-2022, any product sold for infant sleep is required meet a federal safety standard. The new rule doesn’t include swings and car seats.
In the past 10 years, nearly 300 million vehicles have been recalled for potential safety defects. Only 75 percent of those recalls have been addressed, leaving more than 72 million vehicles on the road with unrepaired recalls. As consumers go back into the car market, used cars are the most popular choice.
HSN is recalling about 5.4 million handheld clothing steamers in the U.S. and about 14,300 in Canada. The recalled clothing steamers can expel, spray, or leak hot water during use, posing a serious burn hazard to consumers. HSN has received 227 reports of hot water spraying or leaking from the steamers.
