Who could have guessed a few months ago that the world would suddenly be plunged into a pandemic that would require months of staying at home? I’m doing well. I’m able to pick up an order of groceries weekly from my local food co-op.

Happy Presidents’ Day 2020

Presidents’ Day is a good day to think about government and what you can do as a citizen to be involved and help it work as effectively as possible. For decades, I’ve been a member of the League of Women Voters, an organization who’s purpose is to educate citizens so that they can become informed participants in government.

Ads for 2020 Super Bowl mostly violent, unimaginative

For some reason, the Super Bowl this year seemed to be so violent and sexist. I’m not a football fan, but I watch the Super Bowl every year to comment on the ads to see if they continue to be violent, sexist, and ageist. This year, the game itself and the ads this were so violent, with dozens of ads for violent TV shows and violent movies.

Baby boomers on inspiration, admiration, well-being, and leisure

The boomers in our blogging groups have been busy this week, except for Meryl Baer of Six Decades and Counting. Baer spent the week cruising the Caribbean, and now that she’s back home she’s adjusting to the colder weather and returning to everyday life – restocking the fridge, cooking, cleaning, and endless laundry.
