What to do on Presidents’ Day

How’s your Presidents’ Day going? I got lucky and my daughter is visiting from Madrid. We’ve been checking out the sights in Seattle and getting together with her friends. If you need some ideas for activities for the holiday, consider the following: (1) Read biographies of Washington and Lincoln. (2) Ask five friends who their favorite president is and why.

Top 10 articles on my blog for 2023

As each year ends, I like to look back on which articles were the most popular on my blog. It’s rewarding to write articles that help people. I’m glad to see that the top article from last year was on dangerous infant sleep and infant products. Thank you for your readership during 2023. I’m looking forward writing more articles throughout 2024.

What to do on Earth Day and all year to make a difference

Earth Day is a good reminder of what to do every day and throughout the year for the health of the planet. I spend a lot of time on it. I know many people do, too. The theme for this year’s Earth Day is Invest in Our Planet. Three-quarters of Americans say that they’re particularly concerned with helping the environment as they go about their daily lives.

Top consumer and personal finance stories of 2022

It’s time for my annual article on the top consumer and personal finance articles of the year. As usual, there aren’t many reporters covering this important topic. However, in addition to the best news, health, political, and science stories of the year, there’s a new category: the top climate change stories.
