Are you eating enough fruits, vegetables?

The best advice for cancer prevention is to eat fruits and vegetables, get some exercise, and keep weight in a healthful range.

Eat lots of leafy, colorful fruit and vegetables, said Stephen Hursting, a professor of nutrition at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, in a Washington Post article.

They’re full of antioxidants — substances that help repair cell damage and may help prevent some kinds of cancer. These foods also have anti-inflammatory components that might play a role in fighting cancer.

I tried something new this morning. I sauteed Brussels sprouts with garlic. It was tasty.

  1. Since beginning my weight loss journey and losing 23lbs, I finally realize the importance of eating fruits and veggies. Now it’s not hard to consume them without all of the extra salts and seasoning. However, Brussel sprouts and beets are my LEAST favorite vegetables. Lol.
