Which corporation is your least favorite?

Corporate Accountability International, a group working for the public interest, is offering consumers the opportunity to vote for corporations that they think are doing the worst in 2009.

It offers these choices:

  • AIG
  • Coca Cola
  • UBS
  • Wal-Mart
  • McDonald’s
  • Goldman Sachs
  • ExxonMobile
  • Merck

I had a hard time choosing between AIG and Goldman Sachs, in this year of financial turmoil. I chose Goldman Sachs. However, I missed Merck at the end of the list, one of Big Pharma’s revenue leaders that’s facing tens of billions in liabilities for marketing potentially deadly medicine, while concealing the health risks from consumers.

You can vote for one of these companies for Corporate Accountability’s Hall of Shame. Or you can enter the name of another corporation.

The leading write-in candidate is Cargill, the largest private corporation in the U.S., which Corporate Accountability says was responsible for food shortages last year due to its control of the food supply.

Current members of Corporate Accountability’s Hall of Shame are Blackwater and Dow Chemical.
