Which consumer happenings cheered you this week and which ones made you want to scream or weep?
Here are my best and worst consumer experiences this week:
My best: Free blackberries

I had fun picking blackberries with my family and making blackberry pie.
We used a minimum about of sugar, 1/3 cup for 4 coups of berries. I saw recipes with two or three times the amount of sugar.
I found the recipe on the Pie Maven’s website.
My worst: A mistake by Comcast

When I was visiting my daughter last week, I called my home number and tried to retrieve my messages like I have dozens of times before.
Comcast said I had entered the wrong password. So, I entered it again. Still, it wouldn’t work. I tried again and again. I couldn’t figure out what was wrong.
Then, the Comcast system, in its irritating electronic voice, said my phone messages were locked. I had tried too many times with the wrong pass word. I couldn’t believe it.
I fumed for several days. Before I called to complain, I tried getting my voicemail messages again. It worked like a charm. I don’t know what was wrong, but it certainly was irritating not to be able to retrieve my messages from my landline when I wanted them.
