Valentine’s Day is a day for lovers, and Americans love to celebrate it.
U.S. consumers are expected to spend an average of $137, but that’s down from last year’s record-high of $147. Maybe consumers are nervous about the economy and aren’t sure what’s going to happen next.
Total spending for Valentine’s Day is expected to reach $18.2 billion, down from $19.7 billion last year, which was also a record.
I hope you’re going to have a great celebration with your partner – perhaps dinner at a nice restaurant and a glass of wine. About 37 percent of U.S. consumers will be having an evening out on Valentine’s Day, for a total of $3.8 billion spent.
