Best wishes on Thanksgiving

On this day of thanks, I hope you and your loved ones are able to gather together and celebrate the positive things in your life.

This afternoon, I enjoyed a wonderful Thanksgiving dinner with members of my church. The food was fabulous. I got a kick out of a note on pans of gravy that said “Costco gravy,” because I’d written about how to make gravy and what to do if you have lumps.

Usually, except for the recent Pandemic years, I go to Madrid to celebrate Thanksgiving with my daughter and her family. The photo is of me and my grandkids and the letters they made when they were young. Now, it’s a family tradition to be photographed with the message on Thanksgiving Day.

However, I’m not in Madrid this year for Thanksgiving. I had surgery on July 30 and didn’t know whether I’d be up to traveling half-way across the world for Thanksgiving. So I didn’t get a ticket.

Thankfully, on Thanksgiving Day, I’m doing very well after my surgery.

Today, I’m thankful and grateful for my many blessings. I wish better days for those who are struggling in today’s economy and those with health issues.

I also fervently hope daily that leaders of world governments can come to agreements and negotiate the end to the many wars that plague our world.

So much unnecessary loss of lives and so much waste of resources. We can do better than this.
